By accessing or using Cuenca Connect (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Cuenca Connect provides informational content, community guides, a provider directory, an AI chat assistant (“Matthew”), and related tools for English-speaking expats in Cuenca, Ecuador. The Service is available in Free and Plus subscription tiers.

3. Information Disclaimer

All content on Cuenca Connect is for general informational purposes only.

  • We do not provide medical, legal, financial, tax, immigration, or real estate advice.
  • Information may be outdated, incomplete, or inaccurate despite our best efforts.
  • Sample data is clearly marked as “SAMPLE — NEEDS VERIFICATION” and should not be relied upon.
  • Always consult qualified professionals for decisions affecting your health, finances, legal status, or safety.

4. Matthew AI Assistant

Matthew is an AI assistant that responds based on a curated knowledge base. Matthew:

  • Is not a substitute for professional advice.
  • May occasionally provide inaccurate information despite our safeguards.
  • Does not perform live web searches or access real-time data.
  • Conversations are logged to improve service quality and are subject to our Privacy Policy.

5. Provider Directory

The provider directory contains listings that may include unverified sample data. Cuenca Connect:

  • Does not endorse, guarantee, or certify any listed provider.
  • Is not responsible for the quality of services rendered by listed providers.
  • Does not receive payment from providers for listings unless explicitly labeled as “Sponsored” or “Featured.”
  • Verification status reflects our internal review process, not a professional certification.

6. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information and not impersonate others.

7. Subscriptions and Payments

Plus subscriptions provide additional features as described on our pricing page. Subscription details, pricing, and cancellation terms are displayed at the time of purchase.

8. User Content

Provider suggestions, feedback, and other user submissions grant Cuenca Connect a non-exclusive license to use, display, and incorporate such content into the Service.

9. Prohibited Conduct

You may not use the Service to harass others, scrape data at scale, reverse-engineer AI systems, or engage in any illegal activity.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cuenca Connect shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service or reliance on any information provided.

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
